This paper investigates the distribution of the currents in a 2D metamaterial realized with coupled-resonant circuits, when it is excited by a voltage source in an arbitrary cell. Possible different models for the analysis of these structures are illustrated and the effect of the approximations they introduce on the current values are shown for a 5x5 array. Furthermore, the matching of the boundaries of the metamaterial is discussed and possible values for the matching impedances have been numerically calculated for arrays with a small number of resonators.

Abstract
This paper investigates the distribution of the currents in a 2D metamaterial realized with coupled-resonant circuits, when it is excited by a voltage source in an arbitrary cell. Possible different models for the analysis of these structures are illustrated and the effect of the approximations they introduce on the current values are shown for a 5x5 array. Furthermore, the matching of the boundaries of the metamaterial is discussed and possible values for the matching impedances have been numerically calculated for arrays with a small number of resonators.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
