All’incrocio di culture tra Antichità e Medioevo. Storie di palinsesti a Verona, tra Ravenna e Bobbio

Mainly placed at the border between Antiquity and Middle Ages, the palimpsests (better known as codices rescripti) are still considered responsible for the ruin of classical culture and civilization. This paper examines some reused manuscripts (both as codices and fragments) usually related to the earliest activity of the Bobbio scriptorium in order to ascertain the correct origin of these multifaceted items. In fact, many of them seem to have arrived in Bobbio from Verona, where the local cathedral (at least since the sixth century A.D.) worked like a real hub of late ancient manuscripts collected from many cities across northern Italy (especially from Ravenna).
