The Adoration of the Baby Jesus and the Saintly Bishops painted by Gian Martino Spanzotti for the church of San Francesco at Rivarolo Canavese was one of his younger works. Following a deep stylistic - iconographic analysis, we suggest the commissioner to have been Domenico Malgrà of Rivarolo. Manfredi became Bishop of Ivrea in 1479 and it was probably in that period that he commissioned Spanzotti to paint the Adoration.

Abstract
The Adoration of the Baby Jesus and the Saintly Bishops painted by Gian Martino Spanzotti for the church of San Francesco at Rivarolo Canavese was one of his younger works. Following a deep stylistic - iconographic analysis, we suggest the commissioner to have been Domenico Malgrà of Rivarolo. Manfredi became Bishop of Ivrea in 1479 and it was probably in that period that he commissioned Spanzotti to paint the Adoration.File in questo prodotto:
