The protection of historical boats as cultural heritage This paper deals with the legal regulation of historical boats in the domestic legal system. Namely, it examines the provisions of legislative decree no. 42 of 2004 dedicated to this and some regional aspects (in particular in Emilia Romagna). Such a legislation is analysed in a critical manner, also proposing some possible reform solutions. Lastly, the MIC's recent measure on the imposition of a restriction on "third-party sails" is also discussed
