The special issue aims to contribute to the discussion of the potentials and implications of Embodiment theories for translation studies and translation didactics. After providing a general introduction to the concept of Embodiment including an overview on several empirical case studies in the fields of psychology and neuroscience which provide scientific evidence for bidirectional relationships between mind, environment and body, the issue focuses on perspectives concerning the factual relevance of bodily dimensions for translators’ literary translation processes.
