The chapter discusses the sources commonly quoted in connection with Aeschylus’ accusation of impiety, plus four additional sources, which date from an earlier time but are often overlooked. I suggest that this episode might have happened during the 460s BCE and was not the only reason why the tragedian left Athens and travelled to Sicily toward the end of his life.

Abstract
The chapter discusses the sources commonly quoted in connection with Aeschylus’ accusation of impiety, plus four additional sources, which date from an earlier time but are often overlooked. I suggest that this episode might have happened during the 460s BCE and was not the only reason why the tragedian left Athens and travelled to Sicily toward the end of his life.File in questo prodotto:
