Claudio Cesa has never devoted a full treatise to questions of method for philosophical historiography, yet he has left several observations on this topic throughout his rich production as a scholar: on categories such as “classic German philosophy”, or “Hegelian school,” considered in their hermeneutic meaning; on the relationship between theory and history in the work of the historian; on the need of protecting the historiographic narration of facts and the philosophical explanation of particular categories, beyond the study of the documents.
