Motivi e caratteri del nuovo Código de las familias di Cuba

The enactment of the new Cuban Families Code responds to the need for the legal system to reflect the social reality of family relations in an up-to-date manner. Hence the use of the plural “families”, an approach that allows the traditional concept of the family to be broadened, avoiding a single and exclusive model. In the wake of the 2019 Constitution, the codification thus lays the foundations for a more democratic family law that is both supportive and responsible, seeking to strike a balance between the public and private components, thus creating new spaces for individual autonomy and choice.
