Reti al crepuscolo? Ruolo economico di comparatico e padrinato in un caso Veneto del XIX Secolo

This article studies the "padrininato" and "comparatico" practised between 1834 and 1854 by families living in the community of Follina in northen Italy. It is assumed to exist a general redefinition of social and kinship networks in that period and distinguishable an economic function of unnatural kinship. This study detailed spiritual kinship at least makes it possible to describe the economic relations between individuals, families and groups of relatives. Extensive demographic, social and economic information are available for Follina. Thanks to the cross-referencing of civil registers, parish registers, notarial deeds and the land register. Relational networks are observed in their functionality and for the concrete contributions they made to the lives of individuals.
