Le cerimonie funebri a Ravenna e Rimini nei secoli XIII-XIV. Norme e rituali

The topic of this article is mourning and funerals in the late Middle Ages, when death, a moment of pain to be shared socially, began to be regulated to rationalize participation in events involving potentially dangerous behavior. The aim of this research is to examine the municipal statutes of Ravenna and Rimini in order to understand the concerns of the legislators and the funeral practices which the civil and ecclesiastical authorities wanted gradually to replace with forms of control.
