The essay provides a short analysis of Luigi Ferrajoli’s masterly book Per una Costituzione della terra. Umanità al bivio that aims at constructively contributing to the debate opened by such a compelling proposal by highlighting some of the theoretical questions that may prevent its full deployment. In this regard, particular attention is paid to the potential risks linked to the intrinsic political nature of the “Federazione della Terra” [Earth Federation] proposed in the book, as well as to the need to address the challenges posed by the problematic relationships between law and conflict, on the one hand, and pluralism, on the other.
