The goal of this work is to develop nasal formulations of THA based on bovine serum albumin nanoparticles (NPL BSA) with -cyclodextrin (CD) and some of its derivatives such as hydroxypropyl -cyclodextrin (HPCD) and sulphobutyl ether -cyclodextrin (SBECD), as permeation enhancers (2,3). Thermal analysis supported by FTIR spectroscopy was used for solid-state characterization of NPL BSA systems. Powders were characterized for drug content, morphology, size distribution and surface charge, as well as for mucoadhesion properties and ex-vivo drug permeation ability.
