This paper presents a use case of hybrid AI approach applied to the European legislation with the aim to detect and analyse the similarity between some European Directives and the corresponding implementation in the domestic law of the Member States. The approach uses Akoma Ntoso XML standard for supporting the comparison between the different articles.We have conducted this research inside of the project ‘Drafting legislation in the era of AI and digitisation’ with the support of the EU Commission – Directorate General Informatics Unit B2 – Solutions for Legislation, Policy & HR.

Abstract
