The Diccionario castellano con las voces de ciencias y artes, y sus correspondientes en las tres lenguas francesa, latina e italiana written by the Jesuit Esteban de Terreros y Pando and considered by scholars as the only non-academic general dictionary of Spanish of the 18th century, has aroused exceptional interest among specialized critics in recent decades, especially after Arco Libros published a facsimile edition edited by M. Alvar in 1987.This paper aims to recover the tradition of Italian lexicography in Terreros through the study of the Diccionario Castellano from the point of view of lexicographic references, analyzing the relationship between the aforementioned work and the sources used by its author for the Italian language, that is, dictionaries by the lexicographers Lorenzo Franciosini and Annibale Antonini. Therefore, this paper identifies and records explicit references to the authors and classifies the different reference procedures adopted by the Jesuit for the Italian language.
