With the aim of providing a theoretical and practical synthesis, the present volume collects the results of the lessons of the very first Master in “Didactics of the German language as a Foreign and Second Language”, held at the University of Naples Suor Orsola Benincasa during the academic year 2020/2021. It includes didactic proposals as well, which can be considered the basis for a fluid and dynamic idea of teaching and critically respond to the renewal needs of the conceptual framework of the Ministerial school programmes. In light of this, the volume is configured as a theoretical and practical reference manual for those who need to prepare for competitive examinations for teaching in the secondary school. It is useful as well for those who want to qualify as a linguistic supporter so as to assist pupils from migratory backgrounds in German schools, and in general for the continuous training of teachers of German language and culture.
