Boccaccio, Alessandro e una fonte del 'Filocolo'

The paper deals with the presence of the Roman d’Alexandre and ot other texts linked to it in Boccaccio’s work. First of all, two textual passages will be analized: a fragment in the Zibaldone Laurenziano, latin translation of the Fuerre de Gadres, today part of the Roman d’Alexandre: and the esposizione to Inf XIV, 31-33, where Boccaccio seems to declare his own ignorance about the episode narrated in Divina Commedia – otherwise well attested in vulgar literature on Alexander The Great. Then, the paper focuses on the Voeux du Paon, work strictly linked to the Roman d’Alexandre, and on its use as a source in Filocolo. Two moments will be analized: first, the Voti del Pavone (II 32-36), that shows just a thematic –altough evident – connection; secondly, the Questioni d’amore (IV, 18-71), which presents more thight affinities with the Roi qui ne ment episode in the Voeux.

L’articolo indaga la presenza del Roman d’Alexandre e delle opere ad esso collegate nelle opere di Boccaccio. Verranno prima di tutto analizzati due luoghi: il frammento contenuto nello Zibaldone Laurenziano traduzione latina del Fuerre de Gadres, oggi parte del Roman d'Alexandre in versi; e l’eposizione ad Inf. XIV, 31-33, in cui Boccaccio pare denunciare invece la sua ignoranza rispetto all'episodio narrato nella Commedia, ben attestato invece nella letteratura in volgare su Alessandro. In secondo luogo l’articolo si concentra sui Voeux du Paon, opera strettamente legata al Roman d'Alexandre, e del suo utilizzo come fonte del Filocolo. Verranno indagati due momenti: il primo, i voti del Pavone (II, 32-36), dimostra una prossimità con il testo francese che, benché evidente, resta soltanto tematica e contestuale; il secondo invece, le Questioni d'amore (IV, 18-71) presenta più stringenti affinità con l'episodio del roi qui ne ment nei Voeux.
