Abstract
In the late philosophical dialogue "De lite inter Naturam et Fortunam", Mussato's ideal of "poetic theology" is redefined in a more restricted sense in the light of a rigorous set of doctrinal beliefs. The text distinguishes and evaluates pagan myths according to their degree of correspondence with holy Scripture and the doctrine of free will, thus establishing an implicit hierarchy between tales that are, and are not, acceptable for the Christian faithful.File in questo prodotto:
