The excavations of the Republican sanctuary of Monte Rinaldo in the Piceno (Fm) by the University of Bologna, after the revision of the previous documentation of investigations which were conducted there during 20th century, are progressively expanding our knowledge of the monumental history of the site, its historical context (the Roman colonization of mid-Adriatic Italy), the shape and dynamics of Roman religion in a Roman-Latin colonial frame. Among most noteworthy updates, there is the identification of the cults held in the sanctuary and the acquisition of new data in relation to ritual and votive practices. The contribution offers a summary of these topics, thanks to the review of unpublished materials and the preliminary study of selected archaeological evidence that was investigated during recent excavation campaigns.
