“De luco sacro veterum pisaurensium”. Documenti e materiali per la storia di un santuario romanolatino dell’Italia centrale adriatica

The so called lucus Pisaurensis is known as one of the most important cultic places in the ager Gallicus, in middle-Adriatic Italy (Marche region). This paper summarizes the main topics of a research carried out on the sanctuary and on its heterogeneous evidence, such as archival documents, manuscripts, epigraphic inscriptions and terracotta artefacs. Through an integrated approach to documents and materials, it is possible to offer a more precise interpretation of the anchaeological contex as well ad of the broader cultural and historical processes linked to Roman Republican colonization of central italy
