The aim of this study is to assess attachment and the role of Mother-Father-Child relationship in the family with preterm born child (< 1500 gr) from 3 months to 1 year corrected age compared with a control group of families with term-born children (> 2500 gr). 20 preterm and 20 term couples with their babies were studied (120 subjects). Mother-Child and Father-Child couples were subjected to CARE-Index and both parents to AAI, Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS), CES-D and STAI Y-2. The child’s psychomotor development was assessed by the Bayley Scales of Infant Development (BSID II). Attachment assessment followed the DMM criteria.
