This paper deals with four rhyton-hoards discovered at Gournia. Two of them may be dated in LMIA, whereas the remaining two belong to the LMIB destruction of the settlement. Two main points are taken into consideration: 1 – the possible cultic character of the assemblages, hinted at by the presence of the bull’s head rhyta in two of the hoards; 2 – the requisites of participation of the ceremonies accounted for by the hoards, possibly varying along with the reducing in size of the latter between LMIA and LMIB. In LMIB, the performing of exclusive ceremonies could be considered an indicator of the presence of corporate groups in direct relationship with the renovation of the local “Palace”.
