A possibility of recovering the wind vector over sea using the Doppler navigation system of flying apparatus, which has a fixed-antenna system and operates in the mode of a multi-beam scatterometer, in addition to its typical navigation application, is discussed, and an algorithm for measuring the sea surface wind speed and direction is proposed.
