The aims of this paper are two and interconnected: the author proposes to understand the representation of Lysander in Plutarch according to certain ethical and pathetic categories enunciated by Aristotle, whose ethical and political production was, in all probability, read by the biographer and in some respects assimilated. Furthermore, the focus turns to certain passions (indignation, wrath, envy, fear) that shape, both as cause and effect, the relationships between Lysander and his interlocutors, friends and adversaries, in order to verify their dynamics in the historical context of reference, as well as to consider the differences between the perspective with which Aristotle, in Book V of the Politics, treats exceptional individuals (including Lysander) and Plutarch's exegesis, which is in part ambivalent and thus susceptible to dialectical reflection.

Abstract
The aims of this paper are two and interconnected: the author proposes to understand the representation of Lysander in Plutarch according to certain ethical and pathetic categories enunciated by Aristotle, whose ethical and political production was, in all probability, read by the biographer and in some respects assimilated. Furthermore, the focus turns to certain passions (indignation, wrath, envy, fear) that shape, both as cause and effect, the relationships between Lysander and his interlocutors, friends and adversaries, in order to verify their dynamics in the historical context of reference, as well as to consider the differences between the perspective with which Aristotle, in Book V of the Politics, treats exceptional individuals (including Lysander) and Plutarch's exegesis, which is in part ambivalent and thus susceptible to dialectical reflection.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
