This paper aims to reconsider the textual state of Apul. flor. 2, 10, where most editors print Helm’s conjecture eminens for the paradosis eminus. I argue that a comparison with Lucr. vi 743, which is one of the main intertexts of this passage, strongly supports remittens, a conjecture already suggested by P. Thomas.
