The article deals with the French Loi Florange of 2014. This piece of legislation requires employers with more than fifty employees to seek and look for a possible buyer, in order to avoid a collective dismissal of more than ten employees and the shutdown of the establishment. In essence, the French legislation aims to discourage unscrupulous business strategies and to push firms to take into consideration the interests of the territory in which they are located. However, due to a 2014 decision of the French Conseil Constitutionnel, the Loi Florange appears to be little more than a paper tiger.
