The exhibition Street Art − Banksy & co. L’arte allo stato urbano, set up in Bologna in the 2016, has had the credit to open a new chapter of the history of conservation, preservation, protection and musealisation of illegal and legal Urban Art. In fact, the exhibition not only brought to a reflection on the memory of Graffiti-Writing and Street Art, but put public opinion some fundamental questions: what evidences of these cultures are we passing to the future? Which methods and which approaches are to be preferred to safeguard this artistic and cultural phenomenon? Can and should the Urban Art be restored? In this regard, what role will the museum play in next years? Instances then celebrated by conferences, books, academic essays, already forgotten today. Now, the institutions pay attention only and exclusively to, so called, Public Art, understood as a manifestation of legal art, which has nothing to do with Graffiti Art and Spontaneous Art, historicized by critics.
