Diffuse leiomyomatosis of the oesophagus is a rare pathological condition characterised by diffuse hypertrophy of the oesophageal muscles, without involvement of the muscularis mucosae. This disease involves children and young adults, occasionally associated with other localisation of leiomyomatosis or with Alport’s syndrome. We report on the case of a 61-year-old male with a progressive dysphagia to solids along with moderate weight loss over the previous 2 years admitted to our department with a food bolus impaction.
