The author investigates why Ulpian quoted the Pedius’definition of dolus in his comment of praetor’s edict de pactis, even tough he had quoted the different definition of dolus elaborated by Labeo in other part of his commentary. The author demonstrates the inner coherence of two definitions in the tought of Ulpian.
