The article represents a thematic itinerary in three steps, based on wellknown topics of Quevedo’s poetry on astrology, storms and droughts: first, the aim is to unravel why Quevedo, in vv. 37-42 of «Silva a las estrellas», introduces agricultural terms, lowering the register of his model Michael Tarchaniota Marullus; secondly, a passage from Symmachus is deepened in which, based on a variant, topics such as astrology and agriculture are also mentioned; thirdly, the pastoral sonnet «Ya viste que acusaban los sembrados» (Bl. 499) where it is the lady who punishes both the poetic self and the natural elements related to agriculture.
