Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) with antimicrobials was recommended for all patients with duodenal ulcer. The precise regimen that should be used for eradication of the infection remains uncertain because of the variety of regimens described, variable results with the regimens, and difficulties in predicting drug compliance outside clinical trials. However, no studies have compared the outcomes and costs among all leading antibiotic regimens. At this time on the basis of simplicity, safety and efficacy, the triple therapies with PPI and two antibiotics given twice daily for one week is recommended for eradication of Hp in patients with duodenal ulcer.

Abstract
Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) with antimicrobials was recommended for all patients with duodenal ulcer. The precise regimen that should be used for eradication of the infection remains uncertain because of the variety of regimens described, variable results with the regimens, and difficulties in predicting drug compliance outside clinical trials. However, no studies have compared the outcomes and costs among all leading antibiotic regimens. At this time on the basis of simplicity, safety and efficacy, the triple therapies with PPI and two antibiotics given twice daily for one week is recommended for eradication of Hp in patients with duodenal ulcer.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
