An expressed sequence tag (EST) of 403 bp, isolated from a porcine skeletal muscle cDNA library (EMBL accession no. AJ301278), showed the highest identity with bovine, murine and human fast skeletal muscle troponin T3 (TNNT3 or TNTF) cDNA sequences. Three alleles were identified by SSCP analysis of the amplified fragment of the porcine TNNT3 gene. Linkage analysis assigned this gene to porcine chromosome 2.
