The 3'-untranslated region (3¢-UTR) of the porcine cathepsin H (CTSH) cDNA sequence (EMBL no. AF001169)1 was used to design two polymerase chain reaction (PCR) primers that amplified a 100-bp fragment from pig total genomic DNA. The sequence of two expressed sequence tags, obtained from both ends of a clone isolated from a porcine skeletal muscle cDNA library (EMBL nos. AJ301219 and AJ301241), showed 100% identity with the porcine cathepsin L (CTSL) cDNA sequence already present in a database (EMBL no. D37917). The sequence AJ301219 was used to design two PCR primers that amplified a fragment of 216 bp of the 3'-UTR of the CTSL gene from pig total genomic DNA. Using a somatic cell hybrid panel, CTSH was mapped to porcine chromosome 7 and CTSL was mapped to porcine chromosome 10.

Abstract
Using a somatic cell hybrid panel, CTSH was mapped to porcine chromosome 7 and CTSL was mapped to porcine chromosome 10.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
