A group of 25 workers of the analytic department of a pharmaceutical company, occupationally exposed to solvents, was studied. The peripheral function of the ulnar nerve was evaluated through an electromyographic test using surface electrodes. The results were compared with those obtained from a control group of 31 subjects not exposed to neuro-toxic agents. This has demonstrated the existence in the exposed group of modifications of nervous function probably correlatable to exposure to solvents. These results, however, require further confirmation, above all in consideration of the importance that this could have as an early indicator of the biological effect of exposure to solvents.

Abstract
A group of 25 workers of the analytic department of a pharmaceutical company, occupationally exposed to solvents, was studied. The peripheral function of the ulnar nerve was evaluated through an electromyographic test using surface electrodes. The results were compared with those obtained from a control group of 31 subjects not exposed to neuro-toxic agents. This has demonstrated the existence in the exposed group of modifications of nervous function probably correlatable to exposure to solvents. These results, however, require further confirmation, above all in consideration of the importance that this could have as an early indicator of the biological effect of exposure to solvents.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
