A new approach to support interactive video streaming applications over the Internet has been recently proposed and simulations results proved its effectiveness [1,2]. In this paper we implement this approach through VISP, a client-server application protocol. The protocol is provided with additional features, such as VCR-like functions and a client-server clocks synchronization mechanism. VISP has been tested over the Internet and results confirm that it can well support interactive video streaming applications over the Internet.

Abstract
A new approach to support interactive video streaming applications over the Internet has been recently proposed and simulations results proved its effectiveness [1,2]. In this paper we implement this approach through VISP, a client-server application protocol. The protocol is provided with additional features, such as VCR-like functions and a client-server clocks synchronization mechanism. VISP has been tested over the Internet and results confirm that it can well support interactive video streaming applications over the Internet.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
