First of all, we explain the choice of this 1553 text and the choice of period baroque diction for the heroine: to stage a complex figure of rebellious woman, called barbarian, thus made concretely foreign by her language. For religious and loving reasons, in her own name as well as in the name of all women scorned, she wants to take revenge on the injustice of civilized people who express themselves in contemporary diction. Then we analyze the way in which the acting of the actress updates the manifestations of the «rage that inhabits her» inscribed in the text of Bastier de la Péruse: Chaos, Amplification, Hallucination. We conclude by specifying how our scenographic choices aimed to place the barbaric/civilized debate in a contemporary perspective while leaving the viewer to question the enigma of contradictory behaviors, both monstrous and feminist, of one heroine as complex as this unsolved debate.
