In the context of Sustainable Development Goals and the novel perspective by the New European Bauhaus, interesting pathways for translating grey and polluting spaces of production into sustainable and attractive living places are gradually emerging. The architecture of the factory may be a crucial gear of this transition, as excellent means of communication and proof of a firm’s sustainability pledge. The study suggests that a wide approach to the issue should be adopted to take advantage of positive synergies among environmental, social and perceptual-aesthetic aspects. Exemplary case studies where a holistic sustainable approach is applied in design process are illustrated.

Abstract
In the context of Sustainable Development Goals and the novel perspective by the New European Bauhaus, interesting pathways for translating grey and polluting spaces of production into sustainable and attractive living places are gradually emerging. The architecture of the factory may be a crucial gear of this transition, as excellent means of communication and proof of a firm’s sustainability pledge. The study suggests that a wide approach to the issue should be adopted to take advantage of positive synergies among environmental, social and perceptual-aesthetic aspects. Exemplary case studies where a holistic sustainable approach is applied in design process are illustrated.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
