The article studies the figures of Juan Perón and Fidel Castro in the light of the category of “national socialism” that places them in the larger historical family of political organicism, a secularized form of religious organicism, which in the Western world embodies the deepest and most radical reaction to Enlightenment rationalism. Orphans of the Christianity broken by enlightened secularism, the Latin American national socialisms aspire to restore it in its fundamental features: holism, hierarchy, corporatism, the ethical state.
