Twenty patients with unilateral retrobulbar optic neuritis (NORB) were examined by ecobiometry of the optic nerve to value its utility in follow-up. Ecobiometrical results were compared to functional, perimetrical, electrophysiological and magnetic resonance (MR) datas. All the examination (visual acuity - contrast sensitivity - visual field-PEV-MR-straight gaze and 30° degree gaze A-Scan standardized ecobiometry) were performed at the beginning of NORB and after sixth months. The results showed a correlation among optic nerve ecobiometry and the other tests (p = 0.09) and in the sixth month a normalization of functional parameters in fifteen patients and diminution of pial diameter in seventeen patients (p = 0.347).

Abstract
Twenty patients with unilateral retrobulbar optic neuritis (NORB) were examined by ecobiometry of the optic nerve to value its utility in follow-up. Ecobiometrical results were compared to functional, perimetrical, electrophysiological and magnetic resonance (MR) datas. All the examination (visual acuity - contrast sensitivity - visual field-PEV-MR-straight gaze and 30° degree gaze A-Scan standardized ecobiometry) were performed at the beginning of NORB and after sixth months. The results showed a correlation among optic nerve ecobiometry and the other tests (p = 0.09) and in the sixth month a normalization of functional parameters in fifteen patients and diminution of pial diameter in seventeen patients (p = 0.347).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
