Note sulla produzione storiografica recente intorno alla Guerra dei trent’anni Parte I. Il 1998 come “turning-point"

This bibliographic essay examines how Thirty Years’ War has been studied in the two last decades. It considers the main trends of German, English, French, Spanish, and Italian historiography. The central thesis is that the manner in which scholarly discourse was constructed during the 350th an- niversary of the Peace of Westphalia would prove paradigmatic for nearly all future debates or approaches. As a matter of method, the 26th Europa- ratsausstellung of Münster and Osnabrück acts as a reference point – expe- cially with the publication of the three related volumes published by Heinz Schilling and Klaus Bußmann. In addition, the paper aims to indicate a set of sources that still deserves assessment.
