Tests procedures for short-term electrical, thermal and multi-stress characterization of cross-linked polyethylene insulating materials for high-voltage cables are presented. Electric strength and endurance tests at high electric field enable characterization of insulation performance under electrical and thermo-electrical stresses, while an analytical technique, based on oxidative stability measurements, permits thermal endurance to be investigated. These test procedures are applied to two XLPE compounds.

Abstract
Tests procedures for short-term electrical, thermal and multi-stress characterization of cross-linked polyethylene insulating materials for high-voltage cables are presented. Electric strength and endurance tests at high electric field enable characterization of insulation performance under electrical and thermo-electrical stresses, while an analytical technique, based on oxidative stability measurements, permits thermal endurance to be investigated. These test procedures are applied to two XLPE compounds.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
