Highlights •Prognosis of ALK-positive NSCLC patients has dramatically improved over last decade. • Patients with ALK-positive NSCLC are at increased risk of coagulation disorders. • We reported a rapidly evolving DIC as presentation of ALK-positive NSCLC. • Admission to ICU should be considered for patients with ALK-positive NSCLC. • The association between ALK-rearrangement and VTE should be assessed prospectively.
