Dielectric spheroidal systems with zero charge density contained in a piecewise uniform electrostatic field are considered. For such systems, the Gibbs equation is deduced for a set of stable-equilibrium states with all the possible values of the entropy, the volume, the electric-field magnitude and the ratio between the semi-axes of the system. Moreover, temperature changes in quasi-static processes with constant entropy and volume are evaluated. © 1993 Società Italiana di Fisica.
