From 1 January 2020, the new Incoterms® 2020, drawn up by the International Chamber of Commerce, apply. This new edition of the Incoterms® rules, which has eleven commercial terms, presents some new elements with the introduction of some significant changes, although the overall system of the Incoterms® has remained substantially unchanged compared to the previous edition of 2010. The new version of the Incoterms® 2020 emphasizes the role of «centrality» that the delivery of the goods assumes in the sales contract, and, consequently, the transfer of risk from the seller to the buyer.

Il contributo intende prendere in esame le novità introdotte dalla nuova edizione degli Incoterms 2020, attraverso l'analisi dell'evoluzione delle regole alla luce del lavoro interpretativo svolto dalla Camera di Commercio Internazionale (ICC) e le scelte adottate nell'ultima versione degli Incoterms tra esigenze di adeguamento alla realtà del commercio internazionale ed esigenze di consolidamento e di continuità con il passato.
