After a concise analysis of the new technologies’ impact (with special reference to AI) on work organization, health and safety, and the job market, the essay focuses on the principal labour law issues affected by the ongoing digitalisation process. Labour law might be updated to some extent to cope with the new challenges posed by the technological revolution, but the main purposes of the discipline remain intact. Workers still need legal protection against commodification and exploitation. International rules are not yet ratified and implemented through domestic laws, therfore it is necessary to make every possible effort in cooperative and multilateral channels to push the implementation of the ILO joint regulative framework by most Countries.

Abstract
After a concise analysis of the new technologies’ impact (with special reference to AI) on work organization, health and safety, and the job market, the essay focuses on the principal labour law issues affected by the ongoing digitalisation process. Labour law might be updated to some extent to cope with the new challenges posed by the technological revolution, but the main purposes of the discipline remain intact. Workers still need legal protection against commodification and exploitation. International rules are not yet ratified and implemented through domestic laws, therfore it is necessary to make every possible effort in cooperative and multilateral channels to push the implementation of the ILO joint regulative framework by most Countries.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
