Naming customs and name patterns may vary considerably in different areas of Egyptian territory. This study analyzes the theophoric anthroponyms in the Fayum of the Late Period, in order to understand their relation to specific geographical and cultural patterns. Indeed, theophoric personal names, besides having the primary function of identifying a particular person, also provide valuable information on the religious beliefs and cul- tural values of a society.
