The article deals with the study of naval iconography in the Adriatic area between the 7th and 5th centuries BC, in which a peculiar nautical tradition is highlighted. The persistence of this peculiar nautical tradition in the following centuries, between the 3rd century B.C. and the 2nd century A.D., is highlighted, with particular reference to the naval typologies of the lembos and the liburna and their implications with piracy activities.
L'articolo è dedicato allo studio dell'iconografia navale di area adriatica tra VII e V secolo a.C., in cui si evidenzia una peculiare tradizione nautica. Viene evidenziata la persistenza di questa peculiarità della tradizione nautica anche nei secoli successivi, tra il III secolo a.C. e il II secolo d.C., con particolare riferimento alle tipologie navali del lembos e della liburna e alle loro implicazioni con le attività piratiche.
