Memorie, ristretti e vite delle Carmelitane Scalze di Bologna: dall'archivio del monastero di San Gabriele

During the seventeenth century, Bologna was the scene of the foundational expansion of the Teresian branch of Carmel, as evidenced in 1619 by the foundation of the female monastery of San Gabriele. The antiquity of this cloistered reality, the traces still preserved of the original foundation together with an interesting collection of documents still preserved allow an in-depth study of the life and events that characterized this house, in its rela-tions and links with the city and civil reality in which took root and still interacts.

Nel corso del XVII secolo Bologna fu teatro dell’espansione fondazionale del ramo teresiano del Carmelo, come dimostra nel 1619 la fondazione del monastero femminile di San Gabriele. L’antichità di questa realtà claustrale, le tracce tuttora conservate della primigenia fondazione insieme a una interessante raccolta di documenti tuttora conservati permettono uno studio approfondito della vita e delle vicende che caratterizzarono questa casa, nei suoi rapporti e legami con la realtà cittadina e civile in cui si radicò e tuttora interagisce.
