The impact of propagation parameters on wireless mesh networks performances is investigated based on a MonteCarlo simulation model. Network performance are evaluated in terms of system throughput and packet delay. Propagation is modeled with a dominant contribution while signal strength fluctuations are characterized by a Rayleigh probability distribution. Simulation results obtained in different propagation conditions suggest investigating new strategies to maximize network performance. To this end, the impact of transmission power and the variation of node density have been investigated.

Abstract
The impact of propagation parameters on wireless mesh networks performances is investigated based on a MonteCarlo simulation model. Network performance are evaluated in terms of system throughput and packet delay. Propagation is modeled with a dominant contribution while signal strength fluctuations are characterized by a Rayleigh probability distribution. Simulation results obtained in different propagation conditions suggest investigating new strategies to maximize network performance. To this end, the impact of transmission power and the variation of node density have been investigated.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
