In this work the impact of WiMAX systems is investigated in terms of electromagnetic field exposure evaluations. This study is performed in collaboration with the Regional Protection Agency (ARPA), in order to identify some guidelines to simplify the environmental evaluation procedures. According to the information given by the operators, typically WiMAX installations have been analyzed by means of simulation tools. The obtained results show that exposure due to these systems is compliant with the limits provided by the regulation. The ongoing activity foresees also the realization of measurement campaigns to validate simulation results.

Abstract

In this work the impact of WiMAX systems is investigated in terms of electromagnetic field exposure evaluations. This study is performed in collaboration with the Regional Protection Agency (ARPA), in order to identify some guidelines to simplify the environmental evaluation procedures. According to the information given by the operators, typically WiMAX installations have been analyzed by means of simulation tools. The obtained results show that exposure due to these systems is compliant with the limits provided by the regulation. The ongoing activity foresees also the realization of measurement campaigns to validate simulation results.
