The discourse of this book is woven into an experiential storyline: the creation of the artwork "Le Pommier d'Or" - the Golden Apple Tree - by Kyoji Takubo, an internationally renowned Japanese artist. It is an impressively large mosaic, completed in 2017, placed in a specific location: “Global plaza” at the University of the Sacred Heart, Tokyo. Both in a metaphorical sense and in a real sense, under the tree one receives inspiration, first of all to question, then to listen and dialogue, about the meaning of being human and the need to refound pedagogical orientation through the formative potential of art (Mizushima); on the responsibility to act for the sustainability of the future (Nagata), on the power of the artistic message and the need to be prepared to receive, create and share it (Takubo), on the symbolic power of art as a tool to re-engage us with a sense of sacredness for nature and life (Takashina). This project and the book itself, precisely because of the topicality and urgency of the issues addressed - educational re-foundation, sustainability, biodiversity, coexistence and interconnection - and the educational actions implemented, immediately generated a great deal of attention and received great resonance in Japan, also through the information channels and media.
Il discorso di questo volume è tessuto su una trama esperienziale: la realizzazione di un’opera d’arte “Le pommier d’or” – l’albero delle mele d’oro – ad opera di Kyoji Takubo, artista giapponese di fama internazionale. Si tratta di un mosaico dalle dimensioni imponenti, completato nel 2017 e collocato in un luogo preciso: “Global plaza” presso l’Università del Sacro Cuore, Tokyo. Sia in senso metaforico, sia in senso reale, sotto questo albero si riceve ispirazione, in prima istanza a porsi nella domanda, quindi nell’ascolto e nel dialogo, sul senso dell’essere umani e sulla necessità di rifondare l’orientamento pedagogico attraverso il potenziale formativo dell’arte (Mizushima); sulla responsabilità ad agire per la sostenibilità del futuro (Nagata), sulla forza del messaggio artistico e sulla necessità di disporsi ad intercettarlo, co-costruirlo e condividerlo (Takubo), sul potere simbolico dell’arte come strumento per ri-agganciarci ad un senso di sacralità per la natura e la vita (Takashina). Questo progetto e il libro stesso, proprio per l’attualità e l’urgenza delle questioni attraversate – rifondazione educativa, sostenibilità, biodiversità, convivenza e interconnessione – e per le azioni educative messe in atto, hanno da subito generato una grande attenzione e riscosso, anche attraverso i canali e i media dell’informazione, grande risonanza sul territorio nazionale giapponese.
